Description:

Well, the wait is over.

The 26th annual and 2012 WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view takes place tonight at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

After Survivor Series, there is only one more pay-per-view to close out the year (WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs) and then we are officially on the road to WrestleMania 29.

There are five announced matches on the card, including only one traditional Survivor Series match, leaving the option of a sixth match to possibly be added to the card.

Let's take a look at the matches and break them down.

United States Championship Match
Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. R-Truth

Antonio Cesaro has held the US Championship since August and will look to retain a title that tends to jump around a lot. There have been four different US Champions in the last year.

It is hard to get pumped up for a match of this stature regardless of the talents of the champion Cesaro.

I would imagine that Cesaro will retain, but maybe Little Jimmy interferes and causes the upset?

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

WWE Divas Championship Match
Eve (c) vs. Kaitlyn

Does anyone else think that Kaitlyn has a jawline and figure of a man? Is it just me? Anyways, Eve is on her third reign as WWE Divas Champion and Kaitlyn, who has finally made it to the big dance, is looking for her first championship.

The "Hybrid Diva" of the WWE, with a combination of beauty and power, will most likely grab her first WWE Divas Championship tonight, but may need some help from a few other divas who can't stand the current champion Eve.

Winner: Kaitlyn

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Big Show (c) vs. Sheamus

Holding his second and newly acquired WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Big Show looks to defend a title he won last month at Hell in a Cell in Atlanta.

The challenger, the man who just lost the title to Big Show, Sheamus, will try to get back the belt he successfully defended all year after winning it at WrestleMania. Sheamus was on a roll until the road block he ran into in Atlanta in October, known as the Big Show and his Weapon of Mass Destruction.

Can Sheamus win back the World Heavyweight Championship?
While Big Show doesn't normally have a whole lot of good luck inside of a WWE ring, from time to time, things do go right for him and I can't see him losing the title this fast.

Winner: Big Show

Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team Foley (The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Team Hell No and Randy Orton) vs. Team Ziggler (Dolph Ziggler, Team Rhodes Scholars, Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio)

I never really understood and still don't understand why Mick Foley got involved with CM Punk on a recent episode of Monday Night Raw to set this match up, only to have CM Punk to be pulled for a triple threat WWE Championship match.

While the match still goes on without Punk, the new captain Dolph Ziggler is most likely in need of a fifth member for his team.

Cody Rhodes, who was injured last week by Kane in a match on WWE Main Event, isn't likely to compete tonight but has yet to be officially ruled out.

I don't think it will matter who replaces Rhodes on Team Ziggler as this is a night for The Miz to start shining again and begin his road back to main event status.

I can easily see The Miz being the sole survivor for his Survivor Series team tonight, but turning to a good guy and accepting the praise of his captain Mick Foley? I'd have to see it to believe it.

Who do you think will survive the Traditional Survivor Series match?
The Miz
Dolph Ziggler
Kofi Kingston
Alberto Del Rio
More than one superstar

Winners: Team Foley (The Miz, sole survivor)

WWE Championship Triple Threat Match
CM Punk (c) vs. Ryback vs. John Cena

Less than a month after barely escaping from Hell in a Cell in Atlanta, CM Punk will have to defend his WWE Championship again, this time against Ryback and John Cena.

Survivor Series is the event that CM Punk won his second WWE Championship.

If CM Punk walks onto Monday Night Raw tomorrow night, it will be exactly a year that he has held the WWE Championship and he will be the first wrestler to hold the belt that long since Randy Savage in 1989, a man who he shows respect to inside the squared circle.

I think it is just a matter of how he will retain the WWE Championship than if he will retain it.

Last month, Punk needed a crooked referee Brad Maddox to low blow Ryback; tonight he could possibly need some outside interference from Paul Heyman or even Brock Lesnar to retain.

It is also possible we could see a clean win from Punk after Ryback and Cena get mixed up, setting up a Ryback and John Cena match at Tables, Ladders and Chairs next month and that is the most likely outcome in my opinion.

Winner: CM Punk
