Description:

A 1968 anti Vietnam War animated short featuring Mickey Mouse, with System of a Down's Soldier Side dubbed over the top.

Mickey Mouse in Vietnam was created in 1968, primarily as a form of protest towards the then-ongoing Vietnam War. It was created by Lee Savage (father of Adam Savage, of MythBusters fame) and Milton Glaser (best known as the creator of the 'I heart NY' logo).

Mickey Mouse in Vietnam faded into obscurity for decades, finally re-emerging momentarily at the 2010 Sarajevo Film Festival. In addition to the copy held by the Sarajevo Film Festival, it was also discovered that The Film-Makers' Coop in New York held a copy as part of a 38 minute, 16mm collection reel titled 'For Life, Against the War (Selections)'. Although the reel was available for rent, rental was restricted solely to relevant organisations (such as film festivals and museums). This made it very difficult for people to see it.

In April of 2013, a YouTube user by the name abadhiggins discovered, copied and uploaded a copy of Mickey Mouse in Vietnam but with System of a Down's Soldier Side (Intro) added as a soundtrack. Abadhiggins has since removed his original upload, however mirrored versions have since appeared, including this one.
