Ingredients for the Pink Hearts:
1. 200g Soft Unsalted Butter
2. 200g Caster Sugar
3. 3 Large Eggs
4. 50g Self-Raising Flour
5. 150g Plain Flour
6. 1 tbsp. Whole Milk
7. ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
8. Few drops of Food Colouring or until you reach your desired colour

Steps:
1. Place room temperature butter and caster sugar into a mixing bowl and beat until light and fluffy.
2. Add the eggs one at a time, beating in between to make sure they are well incorporated.
3. Shift the two types of flours into the mixture and fold together until just mixed.
4. Add the vanilla extract and food colouring to your milk and stir into the cake mixture. Do not over mix. If you need more colour add few more drops straight into your mixture.
5. Divide mixture into 2 lined 8-inch cake tins.
6. Bake for 20 minutes at 160°C / 320F.
7. Remove and let it cool down.
8. Then using a heart shape cutter, cut out 12 small hearts.

Ingredients for Cupcake Mixture:
1. 125g Soft Unsalted Butter
2. 125g Caster Sugar
3. 1/4 tsp. Vanilla Extract
4. 2 Large Eggs
5. 125g Self Raising Flour
6. 1/4 tsp. Baking Powder
7. 1 ½ tbsp. Whole Milk

Steps:
1. In a large mixer bowl, add soft unsalted butter and caster sugar. Beat until light, fluffy and creamy.
2. Add the eggs one at a time, beating in between to make sure they are well incorporated.
3. Sift the flour and baking powder together and add into the mixture and gently fold.
4. Pour in the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well until there are no longer any clumps of flour.
5. Pour mixture into the cupcakes cases and put the pink heart into each mixture. Make sure all the hearts are facing in the same direction.
6. Place cupcakes into oven at 170°C of 340°F for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack before icing.
7. Top buttercream on cupcakes and sprinkle the desiccated coconut on top. Make sure you don’t lose the direction of the heart.
8. Place two flowers to indicate where to cut.
9. Cut in between the two flowers and you will see the cute little pink heart in the cupcake.

Makes 12 cupcakes.
