Description: "If you can't hold on" Hiatus is finally over. I'm back with another Once Upon A Time video, this time about my absolute favorite relationship on this show (though Emma/Neal is pretty much tied for second) This is dedicated to Emily (luvtheheaven5)! As part of her wishlist she wanted a video with one of her favorite relationships and this was her favorite OUAT one (we have that in common, plus having Neal as a favorite character!) It is, imo, the most complex one on OUAT and their scenes (both in the past and in the present) are just incredibly well-acted and heartbreaking. The pit scene in 1x19 is still my favorite OUAT scene of all time. I just love how very similar and very different Rumple and Neal/Baelfire are. They have very different character traits but they often make the same choices and are probably the two character with the most self-loathing on the show (nooo babies) I was always so in awe at the fact that everything on the show, if you count it with the start of the curse, was done for Baelfire. There's something about it that is so simultaneously selfish and loving and I feel like that is the crux of Rumplestiltskin and Bae's relationship. There will always be this deep, intense love because when Bae was growing up, all they had in the world were each other. Rumple, though, has always done everything he can for his son, even at the detriment of his life, his marriage and his son's life (possibly now even his grandson). I don't even know where they can go from this last episode, but I just need them to be in a good place. This song reminded me so much of them, especially "if you can't hold on" since hands are such a strong motif in their relationship. Some of the quotes are a little hard to hear though so I put them all down here: "I let him go." "You once loved me." "You were once a good man." "And I can be that man again."
