This video takes us back to late-2017 for a somewhat different DUI arrest.

Before anyone comments on the advances in camera technology over the last couple of years, you should know that the Washington State Patrol is still using this system. Law enforcement has mastered the art of using the highest and lowest technology solutions alongside one another and pretending it's normal.

The problem isn't limited to Washington State Patrol or smaller departments. Take the NYPD, for example. In 2009 the New York Post reported that "the city signed a $982,269 contract with New Jersey-based Swintec for the purchase of thousands of new manual and electric typewriters over the next three years -- some of which retail for as much as $649 apiece. And last month, the city signed a $99,570 deal with Afax Business Machines in Manhattan for the maintenance of its existing Brother, Panasonic and IBM Selectric typewriters."
