Description: Another comic installment of Ponglangsa-on is coming to Australian audiences. Fabulous sets, lighting design, sound manipulation, choreography and music will provide a fantastic backdrop for hilarious comic act by this highly acclaimed Thai musical troupe. A group of North Eastern Thai students studying the art of traditional Thai dancing, came up with the idea of forming a band representing their beloved "Ponglang" (a traditional Thai musical instrument from northeast Thailand). Combining their folk "Ponglang" instrument with pop instruments and music with and traditional dress and dance, "Ponglangsa-on" was formed in 2005 and has reached high acclaim in Thailand. On stage, the musicians perform together with no less than ten dancers. For their first Australia Tour they will perform with 20 dancers! Ponglangsa-on's front man goes by the name Eed and is supported by his two humorous leading ladies, La-La and Lu-Lu. After winning many awards, including winning a talent contest on TV in Thailand, their shows are increasingly booked out. In 2008, their Europe tour had a great response from the Thai, Lao, Cambodian, and European audiences in Netherland, Germany, Switzerland, France, Norway and Denmark. Their first Australian Tour is also highly anticipated and will have you on the edge of your seats in laughter! With the band playing their traditional Thai instrumentals and with the full production and cast never been done before live on stage, the Ponglangsa-onAustralian Tour 2010 will be the first large scale performance by Ponglangsa-on outside Thailand.
