Foreign Crime is Destroying Japan - Zeplin in Tokyo #67

In July 2021, YouTube set all unlisted videos uploaded before 2017 to private (unless the channel owner had opted out). In the weeks leading up to this change, Archive Team archived many pre-2017 unlisted YouTube videos. If this video was uploaded before 2017 and has gone private, there is a chance that a 360p archived version can be viewed on archive.org via the site's Wayback Machine as follows:

1. Enter the YouTube URL in the Wayback Machine form or click on the following link:

2. Right-click on a blue entry in July in the calendar.

3. Click 'Copy link address'.

4. Paste the copied link address into your web browser's address bar and press enter.

Description:

The police in Japan and Tokyo often report that the crime by foreigners, gaijin crime, is very high in Japan. Sometimes it's even shown like foreigners are the main culprits of all the crime in Japan. But is it true?
"The former head of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Emergency Public Safety Task Force, Hiroshi Kubo, published a book disputing foreign crime statistics, suggesting that such statistics were being manipulated by politicians for political gain. He suggested, for example, that including visa violations in crime statistics is misleading. He also said that the crime rate in Tokyo is based on reported rather than actual crimes."
Many times statistics are distorted to make foreigners appear to do more crime than they do. Did you know that over 50% of the reported gaijin crime, is merely visa violations?
That's what I'll talk about in this j-vlog video.

General info:
My channel, TokyoZeplin, focuses on my experiences as a gaijin, a foreigner, living (or lived as of now) in Tokyo, Japan. While a lot of my videos are not facts about Japan, but rather my personal experiences in Japan, mostly Tokyo, a few of them do pop up. My topics range from prostitution in Japan, Japanese porn (no, not really), womens rights in Japan, working conditions in Tokyo, japanese hostesses and their culture, japanese history and culture in general, and much more. Now and then I help people learn japanese, especially japanese slang, though not a lot since there are a lot of tools for learn japanese online. But since I rarely went outside Tokyo, this is really mostly about Tokyo Japan, as my name indicates.
