English UTAU Tutorial (with how to put Vista in Japanese)

In July 2021, YouTube set all unlisted videos uploaded before 2017 to private (unless the channel owner had opted out). In the weeks leading up to this change, Archive Team archived many pre-2017 unlisted YouTube videos. If this video was uploaded before 2017 and has gone private, there is a chance that a 360p archived version can be viewed on archive.org via the site's Wayback Machine as follows:

1. Enter the YouTube URL in the Wayback Machine form or click on the following link:
https://web.archive.org/web/20210000000000*/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2SOWWpuYyI

2. Right-click on a blue entry in July in the calendar.

3. Click 'Copy link address'.

4. Paste the copied link address into your web browser's address bar and press enter.

Description:

IMPORTANT: This tutorial is super oudated. Seriously, it's 4 years old. There are easier ways to install UTAU now, so please search YouTube for tutorials created after mine. It was never a very good tutorial anyway. :P

---

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION AND WATCH FULL VIDEO BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS. :3 I'm not trying to be mean, it just helps if you do that. ^^;;

Also, my tutorial is not the only one on YouTube. There are others, if you search around. Some are for more specific things. They might be helpful to you. Hopefully someone will make a better one than mine. ^^;;

Hihi~. This is an UTAU tutorial I made mostly because I think a lot of you guys were having the exact same trouble I was, and that is that your system was not in Japanese. Here I explain it on Vista, as that's what I'm running. I also tacked on a little bit on how to use UTAU once you get it set up, but it's really nothing that isn't in stumph's tutorial (that's what I learned from after all).

I apologize for the bad audio, mumbliness, and bad pronunciation. I was trying not to wake anyone up or anything, as it's pretty late (early?) here. xD

EDIT: I lost EVERYTHING on my laptop, including UTAU! I may download it again but until then, I may not be able to help that well. @ w@ I'll still try...

FAQs:

Q1. UTAU isn't in Japanese, it's a bunch of weird letters like... ffffvpvpfpfff.
A1. Your computer isn't set to Japanese.

Q2. I can't get Teto to work, how can I fix her?
A2. I'm sorry, I don't know how to make Teto work either. @ w@

Q3. How do I do it on XP?
A3. I don't know how, but yes, you CAN put XP in Japanese and run UTAU on it.

Q4. How can I do it on a computer that isn't Windows?
A4. I'm sorry this isn't much of an answer but... I don't personally know.

For Mac, you can try UTAUxyz's tutorial here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlYJ1CyLrV0

Q5. What version of UTAU is in the video?
A5. Again, I'm sorry this isn't a real answer, but I don't know. I lost everything from my laptop so I don't know which version I was using. (To clarify, it was not UTAU's fault that I lost my data. You can run it without worries. I had hardware issues.)

Q6. How do I make my own UTAU voice?
A6. Check out SingingRobotStalker's tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF1pJT9mdHI

Q7. What about AppLocale?
A7. There are people who said they were able to run UTAU with AppLocale, so I think it's possible. However, I have not been successful. If someone could help _me_, that'd be really appreciated. xD

Q8. Can you help me with [insert problem here'>?
A8. Well... I can try! It doesn't hurt to ask. But I will note that I am not an UTAU expert (actually, I'm very much an UTAU newbie) and may not know, and apologize in advance. (I would REALLY appreciate it if people who know a lot about UTAU would look through the comments for stuff I wasn't able to help with, and see if you can contribute.)
