Description:

A wind ensemble cover of the 1971 progressive rock song Tarkus, originally by Emerson, Lake & Palmer; performed by the Siena Wind Orchestra (plus traditional Japanese drums), arranged by Miho Kazama (based on Mr. Yoshimatsu's full orchestral arrangement), and conducted by Maestro Yutaka Sado. The performance was broadcast on the long running Japanese classical music TV show, Untitled Concert.

When I sat at the piano in 1971 and wrote this then an untitled piece, I never in my wildest dreams would have thought of the possibility of anyone else playing it as it was hard enough with ELP! "Tarkus" lives today in the hands of Mr. Sado and The Siena Wind Orchestra who, like "Tarkus", can challenge anything. - Keith Emerson
