BEFORE Suge Knight would later feud with Dre and hire a goon to attack him as he picked up a lifetime achievement award from Vibe. Suge Knight received the nickname as an abbreviation of ‘Sugar Bear' but the dude is anything but soft and cuddle. Young Suge Knight was a talented football player who received a full scholarship to the University of Nevada, following this he played as a defensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams. When his footaball career came to an end, Suge took note of other Compton natives making it big in rap and applied his services as a bodyguard. He quickly learned that he could make more money intimidating artists as opposed to protecting them.
