Description: Hello Everyone!! This is my official attempt to share with you a unique and effective hair treatment product. It is a conditioner, it is a treatment, it is a styling product, it is whatever you want it to be. The most common uses of the Restorative Hair Treatment are either an overnight mask or a 20 minute treatment prior to showering. The product I will be discussing is the Restorative Hair Treatment from Ojon. Sephora's website describes the treatment as: "This uniquely concentrated, versatile hair rejuvenator contains 100 percent Ojon palm nut oil to improve the condition of damaged, color-treated, or processed hair without weighing it down. Fortifying, rebuilding, and nourishing, it leaves hair extraordinarily shiny, silky, and manageable." 1.5 oz $21 (I recommend starting with the small size, as it will last a long time. Also, sometimes you can get a kit, which would reduce the price if bundled with other Ojon products...such as the shampoo, conditioner, and a hair styling product). 4.6 oz. $55 Basically, the treatment consists of 100% Ojon oil, which derives from a palm nut grown on trees deep in the rainforests of Central America. This oil is the centerpiece of all Ojon products, so I figured it would be best to start with the pure thing!! Although it smells like coffee grinds in the trash, it works like an absolute dream. If your hair is maturing and you are losing the youthful integrity of your glossy locks, try this!! It seriously infuses hair with all the essential oils it needs. It is not a gimmick...this stuff really makes the hair shine, it fortifies the hair, and it makes the hair super strong and volumized (yet extremely soft and manageable) Extra details: The treatment is not recommended 5 days prior to or following a color or chemical service. Porous and/or white hair can be susceptible to temporary discoloration. When in doubt, a strand test is recommended prior to use. The product may liquify at temperatures higher than 86° F or 30° C. My FAVORITE aspects of the product. Naturally derived raw materials Ojon partnered with the indigenous communities in Hondorus, which ultimately led those in Hondorus to make use of their resources. In turn, the villages have improved significantly, the people have jobs, schools have been built, and the citizens have an incentive to take care of and sustain their ecosystem. Ojon has helped thousands of those in Hondorus and other indigenous areas. In this sense, the high price tag makes it all worth it to me. A large portion of your money is literally going to indigenous groups. Their slogan is "wildcrafted beauty." Ojon works with the rainforest alliance to preserve the rainforest and prevent illegal practices, and preserve various endangered species. The list goes on and on.
